This activity was ready in about 2.5 seconds. I cut a slit in an empty oatmeal can and gave M some cards. He has a great time with this.
Once he’s older, I can make 2 cans and make the tops black and red so he can sort by color.
The next level is sorting by suit with 4 cans. You can draw the suit next to the slit or print them off like I did below.
You can also use a box for these as you will see in my (horrible and old) pictures.
